Wool is a wardrobe hero, and with the right care, it’ll keep you looking stylish and feeling snug season after season.

Here’s how to love it for longer:

Less is more

As a breathable fabric, wool doesn’t need frequent washing. Simply air it out after it’s been worn as the natural fibres will release most odours on their own.

Hand wash vs. machine wash

For anything 100% wool, we recommend a gentle hand wash. For blended garments, a delicate cycle in your machine works just fine. Always opt for a mild detergent, such as Woolite, for any delicates

Handle with care

If you need to wash your wool, do it gently, e.g no scrubbing or wringing. Treat any marks with care and remember, a light touch goes a long way.

Flat is fab

After washing, lay your knits out flat to dry. Hanging them up can cause unwanted stretching.

Fold, don’t hang

Hanging your knits can stretch and distort their shape over time, so store them folded to maintain their shape.

Protect your pieces

During the warmer months, wrap your woollens in a pillowcase to prevent them being nibbled by moths. Need something longer-term? Airtight storage works wonders.

Don’t tumble dry

Avoid the tumble dryer to help preserve the quality of your wool garment and reduce laundry emissions

Stay smooth

Natural fibres like wool can pill more than synthetic ones, but don’t worry as these can be easily removed with a wool comb or fabric shaver.

How to prevent pilling

We know you want to wear your knits on repeat, and when that happens, they can be prone to pilling. Most common on natural protein fibres like wool or cashmere, bobbling is a natural side-effect caused by friction - think about how much the fibres of your clothes rub together during everyday wear, washing or drying. Pills might appear first in places like your sleeves, underarms or wherever your bag strap rubs against, that’s because it’s these areas that get the most friction whenever you wear them.

Investing in a fabric comb or razor will remove those pesky pills and have your garments looking as good as new in no time. Gently comb or shave the pills away, and remember, pilling should decrease over time.

While these tips will help keep your knits look their best for longer, always check the care label for specific instructions tailored to your garment.
